Manny being Manny, we’ve all heard that even in his days as a Boston Red Sox Player. So why would someone announce at the beginning of the season that this is his final year playing for that team? No one can say. But there is speculation that he may be heading for retirement since he did not do so well in the latter part of the 2009 season, and there was that 50 game suspension to consider.
However, it seems that he can still contribute and command a respectable contract, if not with the Dodgers, then with some other ballclub. If he pulls off a successful 2010 year it would be expected that other offers will surface and we’ll still be seeing Mr. Ramirez being his unique self both on and off the field.
