David Wilder formally of the Chi White Sox was formally charged with taking kickbacks from young prospects. Mark Buehrle has some streak going. He has started as the White Sox Opening Day Pitcher for eight of the past nine years. But his record, while not bad, doesn’t seem to dominate for that first game. For season openers he has a 3.99 ERA, 2 wins, 1 loss and 4 no decisions. .. Also, it seems that Buehrle doesn’t fully embrace this tradition. He recently remarked that “I still think they’re making a mistake pitching me Opening Day.” In his mind Peavy should get the ball on April 5th.
