The Boston Red Sox and Lee County Officials released plans for the new Red Sox Training Camp slated for opening in the Spring of 2012. The reportedly $75 million complex will have all the amenities for the fans as well as improving the ability of the Red Sox to prepare for regular season play. We’ll be looking at a stadium that in terms of the outfield will be an exact copy of Boston’s Fenway Park. Josh Beckett’s and the Boston red Sox are in contract negotiations with both sides having until the end of the 2010 Baseball Season to reach agreement. When asked about this, Beckett gave the smart answer of “that stuff is going to work itself out”. He knows that if he starts talking to the press that there’s no personal upside but plenty of potential down side. And who needs that kind of controversy and hassle from the press and fans?
