The edict to strip Maddon of his hoodie has been “reinterpreted”.. and you know what that really means. It means that you thought the original thing you said would get you into more trouble that what it’s worth so you want to say you meant something else while trying to save face that the trouble that would occur wasn’t something you realized but is now making you back down. .. Now for you single guys the previous sentence could have been tough to follow but just have some married guy (or girl) interpret it for [click to contimue reading...]
First the crack down on crewing tobacco and now fashion icon Joe Maddon told not to wear the hoodie (a little too “gangsta”, who knows). With such important issues to address it’s no wonder that a comprehensive drug testing program is still not in place … hey, you got to prioritize. Thank God MLB got all over Joe for the hoodie deal … even though Joe feels that “The quality has been raised, it’s more of a shiny kind of material now that I know presents well. I’ve seem them on TV…” Joe, baby, opportunity [click to contimue reading...]
Joe, Joe, Joe…you’ve really done it. People are ticked off and now are dredging up stuff like in 1995 when you ejected the Met’s manager and bench coach over a late lineup card (first time I heard this one but if true it seems like Joe hates to be late…play, play, play and let’s get the hell out of here…it’s a GAME … it suppose to be FUN .. I want to hang at the park and ENJOY it .. it is not my JOB ..sheesh). Here’s some links as to what other’s are saying [click to contimue reading...]
Say it isn’t so Joe.. Apparently Joe West did his very best to hustle up the Red Sox and Yankees but was unsuccessful. And why was he unsuccessful? The only reason can think of was that they really weren’t breaking any rules. So Joe couldn’t put the hammer down. ..Huh.. Well what’s Joe’s Job anyway? To call the game… So Joe, just do your job, it really isn’t too cool to have you ranting the next day that the Sox and Yankees are a disgrace. Guess what? The next time you ump a Sox or Yankees [click to contimue reading...]
So here’s the deal. Someone with time on their hands has determined that the Cubbies have the highest price tickets in professional baseball $52.56..and the Boston Red Sox at $52.32 and the New York Yankees at $51.83 aren’t too far behind. You got to be kidding me. But the really big news in all this is that the Cubs are on this hyperinflation mode.. they keep upping the prices and people just keep coming to Wrigley. We’re talking almost double the price since 2006. And you can only imagine what’s happened to concession prices. .. [click to contimue reading...]
Thank God the long drought is over and baseball season has FINALLY begun. And that was a good deal last night wasn’t it? Yankees/Red Sox on national TV. And half way through the game I was going nuts. The Red Sox hitting.. lack of hitting. Then some nice things began to pop. The game became a game. Sox grab the lead, Yankees, Sox. .. Passed ball and Youkilis scores what would be the winning run. A nice long game. So during the day did the Easter thing.. ya ya, the kids were adorable… chasing the [click to contimue reading...]
Two news stories come out. One had a 21 year old Dan Duffy of the Kansas City Royals System abruptly quitting the game and then on the other side of the coin is Derek Jeter saying essentially that he’s a lifer, there’s no way he’s going away. … What’s up and what’s my opinion? Well, from my perspective (of knowing nothing of Duffy’s inner reasons) Jeter has this all figured out. From those of us working in the tranches we say .. grab this baseball gig and hang on with your dear life. Because the [click to contimue reading...]
It seems that the Orioles are asking (without asking so as not to appear lame) “Isn’t the baseball schedule unfair?”. Well the short answer is, yes of course. The long answer is yes but the cure is worse than the disease. Look, the Orioles have to compete against teams with much larger payrolls who can attract the top talent. And that’s the way it is. They are closer to Boston and New York so one wouldn’t be surprised if they play against Baltimore more than the west coast teams. I haven’t checked this but wouldn’t [click to contimue reading...]
