Edwin Jackson pitched a no-hitter against the Tampa Bay Rays and most of the headlines also put in (the forth no-hitter of the season). You know sometimes you can’t win even when you do win. Sort of like taking a lady to a four star restaurant when the last three guys she dated have done the same… Yawn… just the bad luck of the draw my friend. … So, congrats to Edwin Jackson. Awesome athletic performance against your former teammates (that HAS to sweeten the deal for him). And for the rest of us remember, [click to contimue reading...]
A game of perfection. Perfection, as in, cannot be pitched any better. … This is definitely one of those “If I’d only known” moments. After-all there was hardly anyone in attendance (many, many men I’m sure were on the verge of jumping out the window last night because they took Wifey out to Applebee’s for Mother’s Day instead of going to that once in a lifetime game…(just glad it wasn’t me..(I got to see the Red Sox Trounced on Saturday while being battered by pouring rain, cold temps and wind, a real fun fest it [click to contimue reading...]
Navarro accidentally on purpose bumped the ump with his chest protector in an argument about a disputed call. When you look at the video (here) it’s impossible to see at first. Then they replay it up-close and there was some what looks like a gut bump. So he got tossed. The real shame is that he really didn’t get a chance to give the ump a piece of his mind. The bump came way too soon. A better strategy of course would be to yell at the ump, call him this and that piece of whatever [click to contimue reading...]
OK in the Sporting News Blog (“the Sporting Blog”, wish I had thought of grabbing that domain) they say that Tampa Bay may be the best team in baseball… then they go on to say that here’s some stats that the Yankees may be better….then they go on to say that well if the Yanks are better look at their payroll… What the heck?! Baseball people not only like to put out comments they know will start an argument (Tampa the best even though the season is still wet behind the ears) they love to [click to contimue reading...]
The edict to strip Maddon of his hoodie has been “reinterpreted”.. and you know what that really means. It means that you thought the original thing you said would get you into more trouble that what it’s worth so you want to say you meant something else while trying to save face that the trouble that would occur wasn’t something you realized but is now making you back down. .. Now for you single guys the previous sentence could have been tough to follow but just have some married guy (or girl) interpret it for [click to contimue reading...]
First the crack down on crewing tobacco and now fashion icon Joe Maddon told not to wear the hoodie (a little too “gangsta”, who knows). With such important issues to address it’s no wonder that a comprehensive drug testing program is still not in place … hey, you got to prioritize. Thank God MLB got all over Joe for the hoodie deal … even though Joe feels that “The quality has been raised, it’s more of a shiny kind of material now that I know presents well. I’ve seem them on TV…” Joe, baby, opportunity [click to contimue reading...]
