You heard me right, a Strasburg Card on Ebay for $16,000 (check the Ebay Auction out here). As of 8:44 EST it stands at $16,101 (the press says $17,000 so they don’t know what they’re talking about as usual, the USA Today Article is here).  For $16,000 how many days in cubicle hell is that? Too many that’s how many. But hopefully you noticed they included free shipping, great guy that seller… With my luck the postal service envelope would arrive all bent and folded over or something. And the question of the day is [click to contimue reading...]

After a rough weekend I start Monday Morning reading this piece in the Washington Post about Stephen Strasburg. ..My God, it was like reading from one of those romance novels (I’m guessing). I barely.. and literally mean barely, made it down the first page. Like some kind of torture game I wanted to see if I could take it and almost bailed on the first page although after page one I did bail on the article and started writing this garbarge. If you’re tough enough give it a shot but fair warning here’s some of what [click to contimue reading...]

A game of perfection. Perfection, as in, cannot be pitched any better. … This is definitely one of those “If I’d only known” moments. After-all there was hardly anyone in attendance (many, many men I’m sure were on the verge of jumping out the window last night because they took Wifey out to Applebee’s for Mother’s Day instead of going to that once in a lifetime game…(just glad it wasn’t me..(I got to see the Red Sox Trounced on Saturday while being battered by pouring rain, cold temps and wind, a real fun fest it [click to contimue reading...]

You can almost hear his little words “Don’t tase me bro”. Yes an obnoxious “fan” desperate for attention runs onto the playing field and appears to be having a good old time until he’s taken down. Question: would this have happened to that woman who years ago used to run on the field topless? .. (there probably would have been a riot if she were so quickly interrupted). So that’s it. No news here you can move along. Just some nit-wit who wanted to waste everyone’s time doing something boring (until he got tased). Story [click to contimue reading...]

So the MLB All-Star Game, useless/great, fun/boring depends on your perspective. So they made some changes which may but probably won’t change anyone’s stand on the thing. First is that there will be a DH no matter where the game is played. AND for the National League the manager will select the DH but for the AL the fans will select by ballot. .. I don’t know seems fair to me. … Another thing if a pitcher pitches the Sunday before the All-Star Game he won’t be eligible to pitch in the game but will still [click to contimue reading...]

Navarro accidentally on purpose bumped the ump with his chest protector in an argument about a disputed call. When you look at the video (here) it’s impossible to see at first. Then they replay it up-close  and there was some what looks like a gut bump. So he got tossed. The real shame is that he really didn’t get a chance to give the ump a piece of his mind. The bump came way too soon. A better strategy of course would be to yell at the ump, call him this and that piece of whatever [click to contimue reading...]

Of all the ways to loose a game this has to be one of the worse. The Nationals fight it out until the 10th, then load the bases and walk in the final run. You know it must have been hard to be a Nationals fan. There you have your paid subscription to MLB.com, staying up, game goes to the 10th and then this happens. It’s kind of sad really and almost hard to make fun of. I don’t know, let’s see how the stats look, maybe this is an aberration (although I know it [click to contimue reading...]

OK in the Sporting News Blog (“the Sporting Blog”, wish I had thought of grabbing that domain) they say that Tampa Bay may be the best team in baseball… then they go on to say that here’s some stats that the Yankees may be better….then they go on to say that well if the Yanks are better look at their payroll… What the heck?! Baseball people not only like to put out comments they know will start an argument (Tampa the best even though the season is still wet behind the ears) they love to [click to contimue reading...]

Yeah, yeah they caught Edinson Volquez using steroids and suspended him for 50 games… yeah yeah. … Soooooo they suspended a guy for 50 games he wouldn’t be playing anyway since he’d be recovering from an elbow injury. .. That’s like suspending me from dating Pamela Anderson. Guess what? I wasn’t on the roster anyway. .. who knows why . … But beating your chest yakking about a  50 game suspension does sounds tough, you’ve got to give it that. Anyway I could go into an in depth analysis but if you want to be bored [click to contimue reading...]

The edict to strip Maddon of his hoodie has been “reinterpreted”.. and you know what that really means. It means that you thought the original thing you said would get you into more trouble that what it’s worth so you want to say you meant something else while trying to save face that the trouble that would occur wasn’t something you realized but is now making you back down. .. Now for you single guys the previous sentence could have been tough to follow but just have some married guy (or girl) interpret it for [click to contimue reading...]
